As a photographer I am drawn to the unique, the quietly bizarre, and subtle, almost banal dramas. My images depict domestic interiors as being both comforting and restrictive places. Overall I strive to create work that has both a playful element and an absurd, darkly humorous tension. Drawing from inspiration such as satirical short stories, movie stills, and campy melodramas, I inspire to create tableaus from very commonplace settings. The people portrayed in the images are all anonymous but really the photographer. I like to think about the inability to become a character, the interest to get out of one’s shell but unable to pull away.
